May and more...

May is here! I cannot believe another month is underway and we are *that much* closer to another summer and then fall and then another holiday season. Time sure does fly these days!

I find as you age time seem to go by faster. At this rate i'll be 60 in just a few years! Or at least that is how it will feel! :)

Today I went to the craft store with my daughter and husband to purchase some odds and ends for a project we are working on for moms day (for my own mother). That was a fun trip! I hadn't been inside a craft store for a long time and it reminded me of all the things I always want to do but never get around to doing! I used to crochet a bit but never really formally learned and that went by th wayside. My scrap booking started, stopped then started again and I haven't picked up glue or scissors to scrap in about two years! Sewing classes were never at convenient times when we lived in NJ (working around my husband's work schedule) so I never got to learn! I've wanted to try a handful of other things but just never tried or followed through in the promises I've made myself!

Maybe this summer I can finally take a class or two on my own to enjoy some free time diong something I want to learn. Sewing or a crochet or knit class would be a great place to begin. I hope I can find something at a time that works for me not too far from home. The hurdle would probably be my daughter. I'm certain she'll want in on any "project" i begin, so it may be hard to ever "practice" around her! Hmmm....this could be a challenge! :(

Aside from that, we are all doing quite well. Dieting has fallen by the wayside. We still have pretty good habits but indulge in the delish from time to time and probably too often. I'm weaning myself off caffeine as well and with more classes to teach lately, have been making it to the gym less frequently than I had been. I have high hopes to start heading back there more regularly SOON! Next week should be a little less hectic. I have to *make* the time, but it sure can be difficult when you are pulled in so many different directions!

(CNN)— Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is gaining on Barack Obama’s lead in North Carolina’s polls, three days before the states May 6 primary.

The latest CNN poll of polls out Saturday shows Obama has a 9 point lead with 50 percent to Clinton’s 41 percent among likely Democratic voters.

The new average consists of four surveys: Zogby (May 1-2), ARG (April 30-May 1), Research 2000 (April 29-30), and Mason-Dixon (April 28-29).

Both candidates continue to campaign hard in North Carolina ahead of Tuesday’s primary, where 115 delegates are at stake.

That is about all from the homefront! I hope all is well with everyone who reads this! I have a lot to do and some quiet time with everyone else napping now, so I better hop to it!

You are a little nutty about politics now, aren't you?!? :P

I love craft stores! I usually get all ambitious and buy a crapload of stuff while I'm there, and then I get home and realize that I've just added to the needless clutter in our already-cramped space.

Simplify! Simplify! I need to make that my new mantra ;)

That said, I love stamping. It could really decimate our budget if I really took that up as a hobby.

I was thinking about you today when I was talking with a friend about heading over to Craft-O-Rama (a craft shop here in Austin). I wonder if SA has one? If so, you should check it out; I think you'd enjoy it!
